Hot Dog and Sauerkraut by Miami Food and Product Photographer Tom Clark

The still life photography project continues this week and although my dad’s DIY sauerkraut was the star of the shot, color once again was the motivating factor. The goal was to create an analogous color scheme with a complimentary color added to shake things up a bit. I don’t know about you, but when I think of analogous colors I think of hot dogs. The first time preparing one with this particular sauerkraut I thought, “that’s a photogenic hot dog!” Something about the way the yellow mustard contrasts with the purple cabbage… It looks as tangy as it tastes.

As for props, the paper plate was all that was necessary. It’s a hot dog.
